Jonaraja and Srivara were the two Kashmiri historians who continued the Rajtarangini of Kalhana.
Jonaraja wrote the second Rajtarangini, which covers the period from the death of King Sussala in 1128 CE to the reign of Zain-ul-Abidin in 1459 CE. He witnessed the invasion of Kashmir by Timur in 1398 CE and the
establishment of the Sayyid dynasty in 1413 CE. He praised Zain-ul-Abidin as a benevolent and tolerant ruler who restored peace and prosperity to Kashmir.
Srivara wrote the third Rajtarangini, which continues the history from 1459 CE to 1486 CE. He was a court poet of Zain-ul-Abidin and his successor Haider Shah. He also wrote a supplement to Jonaraja's work, called the Jainatarangini, which covers the period from 1149 CE to 1413 C.
